National Assembly President Returns from First Official International Visit

PHNOM PENH: Cambodian National Assembly President Khuon Sodary returned home on the afternoon of December 7 after visiting Vietnam and Laos and attending the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) Parliamentary Summit. Her first official trip abroad over the past five days brought fruitful results for the parliaments of all three countries.

The National Assembly President led a high-level delegation to visit Vietnam from November 30 to December 2 before continuing on to Laos for the CLV Summit through December 6.

The delegation aimed to maintain a strong and comprehensive relationship between Cambodia and its bordering countries in the legislative and executive branches, while upholding the interests of the people.

At each meeting between Khuon Sodary and her Vietnamese and Laos counterparts, the importance of solidarity, trust, respect and mutual understanding were listed as virtues that have led to beneficial relations between the Southeast Asian countries.

Neighboring relations not only contribute to the prosperity, peace and development of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, but also bring prosperity, stability and development to the region as the world faces complex challenges from geopolitical tensions, climate change, natural disasters and pandemics.
